Prof Dr. Miklos Vasarhelyi

Professor Miklos A. Vasarhelyi is the KPMG Distinguished Professor of Accounting Information Systems and serves as Director of the Rutgers Accounting Research Center (RARC) & Continuous Auditing & Reporting Lab (CAR Lab). He is credited with developing the original continuous audit application and is the leading researcher in this field. At Rutgers Business School, Professor Vasarhelyi heads the Continuous Auditing and Reporting Laboratory, which works on projects for such leading companies as Siemens, KPMG, Procter & Gamble, AICPA, CA Technologies, and Brazil’s Itau-Unibanco. Also, he leads the RADAR (Rutgers AICPA Data Analytics Research Initiative) project supported by the 8 leading CPA firms, AICPA, and CPA Canada. Vasarhelyi, who received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from UCLA, has published more than 200 journal articles, 20 books, and directed over 40 Ph.D. theses. He is the editor of the Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Auditing series and the Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. The professor also has taught executive programs to many large international organizations, including GE, J&J, Eli Lilly, Baxter, ADL, Volvo, Siemens, Chase Bank, and AT&T. He received his MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and electrical engineering from the State University of Guanabara and the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He taught at USC, Columbia, and worked at the Bell Laboratories. Professor Vasarhelyi was chosen as the Outstanding Accounting Educator by the AAA in 2015 and received ISACA’s Wasserman Award among many distinctions.

How coaching and mentoring enhance compliance culture?
Dr. Riza Kadilar is a PhD in Media Economics. After a BSc degree at METU in Industrial Engineering, he has obtained his MSc degree at Stanford University, and completed his MBA at HEC, Paris. He has also completed an executive management course in strategic bank management at INSEAD. He has various advanced level diplomas in executive coaching and mentoring, and has recently attended online programs on leadership in digital age at Columbia Business School and INSEAD.
His past professional career includes senior level bank management experience in UK, the Netherlands, and Turkey, and since 2006 he’s been working for an international investment banking group as their senior country manager and representative for Turkey.
Dr. Kadilar is the global president of European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). He has previously been the president of EMCC Turkey between 2010 and 2017. He is a graduate of AoEC Advanced Diploma (London, 2009), and CTI’s co-active life coaching program (London, 2004). He has provided executive coaching to a large number of executives in Turkish business environment, and has advised in setting of up mentoring programs for various leading institutions. Dr. Kadilar was previously a visiting professor at various leading universities including Boğaziçi University. He is the chairman of an education charity (the English Speaking Union (ESU) Turkey) and of a think tank (China Institute Turkey). He is a scientific committee member at Institut du Bosphore (TUSIAD), trustee and board member at Hisar Education Foundation. He regularly speaks at international conferences on leadership and human capital development. He is the author of five published books and his articles on various subjects are regularly published at Bloomberg Businessweek Turkey.

Murat Lostar graduated from Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering and started his career as a system analyst and programmer in 1986 at Mikro Yazılımevi. He was a managing partner of OMAsoft Software & Consultancy in 1988; between 1993 and 1997 worked as an instructor, consultant and project manager at Komdata / Komdatasoft. Murat Lostar, specialized in Information Security, IT Governance and Business Continuity, established Lostar Information Security Inc. in 1998 by filling an important gap in the sector. Murat Lostar has taught courses in information security, forensics, network security, etc. at Galatasaray University, Sabancı University and Bilgi University. Also, Murat Lostar is the founding president of ISACA Istanbul Chapter and Cloud Security Alliance-Turkey Chapter.
